There is a need
for experimental namespaces able to share in the experimentation
with real and identified traffic, subject to the constraints
and benefiting from the advantages which may be deployed, administratively,
technically, commercially as well as in the public mind, for
brainware oriented experiments.
The dot-root
project supports such namespaces through the ULD concept [Upper Level Domain]. This means
that these namespaces are supported both by a second and a top
level domain of the same mnemonic.
Example: .univ
for university researchers which will also be supported as .univ.tk
Such ULDs:
- will be organized
on a non-profit basis
- are not meant
to be active outside of he dot-root experiment, unless if approved
by the then prevailing rules of the Internet Community.
- should use a
Charter helping the creation of a consistent test registrant
community
- will not warranty
any quality of service as being part of various test beds
- will use dot-root
secretariat as registry to partly compensate its costs
Initial ULDs
will include:
|

and societal experiments |

.atlarge |
